What to Expect

Ryanair B737-800 / MAX 8-200

The backbone of EGUN — multiple daily rotations to European sun and city destinations.

Military (RAF / USAF)

Prestwick sees periodic military traffic including C-17s, P-8 Poseidons, and transatlantic staging.

SAR Helicopters

HM Coastguard SAR helicopters (AW189 / S-92) are based nearby and regularly transit.

GA & Training

Spirit AeroSystems and Prestwick Flying Club operate light aircraft and training flights.

Pro Tips

Best times

Summer mornings offer the best light, especially for RWY 12 operations. Midday departures are reliable for Ryanair rotations.

Bring a scanner

A radio scanner on tower (118.15) lets you anticipate movements and hear callsigns before aircraft appear.

Check the schedule

Visit egpk.info/departures before you go to see what is due. Military and special flights often appear with short notice.

Lens recommendation

A 100-400mm zoom covers most scenarios. For beach shots on RWY 12 approach, a 150-600mm really shines.
